Project LAJJA

Your support can help educate women about menstrual health, distribute sanitary pads, and create communities free from period-related stigma and discrimination.

1. Project Introduction

Menstruation is a natural biological process, yet millions of women and girls across India continue to face stigma, misinformation, and inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products. Deep-rooted taboos often prevent open conversations about menstrual health, leading to poor hygiene practices, health complications, and emotional distress. Project LAJJA, an initiative by Making The Difference Charitable Trust, was launched to empower women and adolescent girls with knowledge, dignity, and access to safe menstrual hygiene. Through awareness sessions, menstrual hygiene kits, educational resources, and community engagement, the project aims to create a society where periods are understood, accepted, and managed with confidence
