Overview:
Making The Difference joined forces with Interise Trust, KRISHNAGIRI THOPUR Toll Road Pvt. Ltd., and BEAWAR PALI PINDWARA Tollway Pvt. Ltd. to turn a roadside stretch near Birami Toll Plaza into a thriving pocket forest. Leveraging the fast‑growing Miyawaki technique, volunteers transformed 12,000 sq. ft. of barren land into a green sanctuary that will soon hum with native birds, insects, and fresh, breathable air.
Goals:
To accelerate afforestation, boost local biodiversity, and create a living, self‑sustaining forest that showcases how infrastructure and ecology can coexist in harmony.
Specifications:
• 3,000 saplings planted using the Miyawaki method
• 40 native species selected for maximum ecological impact
• 12,000 sq. ft. site near Birami Toll Plaza activated
• Collaboration between Making The Difference, Interise Trust, KTTRPL, and BPPTPL
Milestones:
Within just three years, this dense micro‑forest will mature into a carbon‑capturing, shade‑giving haven—proving that even roadside zones can become biodiversity hotspots. The project sets a powerful precedent for eco‑conscious infrastructure development nationwide.
