Support this ProjectSight is more than the ability to see — it is the ability to learn, work, connect and live independently. Yet thousands of children and adults across underserved communities still face preventable vision challenges, held back by limited access to eye care, low awareness and the absence of early diagnosis.
Making The Difference launched Project Roshni to promote eye health, accessibility and inclusion across vulnerable communities. The initiative focuses on preventive eye care, vision screening, awareness, accessibility and empowering visually impaired individuals through technology and support systems. Through large-scale screening camps, awareness programmes and healthcare partnerships, Roshni identifies vision problems early and connects beneficiaries with the treatment and care they need.
Understanding the link between vision, livelihoods and safety, Roshni has also taken eye care to where it is needed most — conducting 3,049 free check-ups for truck drivers who spend long hours on the road, and 7,999 for diamond workers whose craft depends entirely on their sight.
Beyond healthcare, the initiative champions accessibility and inclusion. A major milestone has been the establishment of an AI Lab for visually impaired beneficiaries, opening up assistive technologies and innovative learning tools that strengthen independence, education and digital inclusion. Having screened 19,000+ beneficiaries for eye health across 5 states, Project Roshni continues to create pathways to better vision, greater accessibility and brighter futures — because every individual deserves the opportunity to see, learn, work and thrive with confidence and dignity.
